FITT Social Work Services Inc. provides therapy, forensic assessments, culturally grounded correctional programs, and professional fitness and mental health training. Our work blends trauma-informed clinical practice, Africentric cultural principles, and movement-based wellness to support meaningful and sustainable change.

Duane (Kwadwo) Wiafe is a Ghanaian-Canadian social worker of Akan heritage with over 17 years of experience in federal corrections, mental health, Africentric program development, and fitness education. Rooted in his cultural identity and community values, Duane integrates Africentric principles, trauma-informed practice, and movement-based wellness into his therapeutic and forensic work.
He provides culturally responsive therapy, forensic assessments, correctional programming, and specialized training across Ontario and Canada. His work is guided by Adinkra symbols of the Akan people—principles that ground his practice in identity, healing, resilience, and community responsibility.

We specialize in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy at FITT Social Work Services Inc.. This innovative approach helps individuals process and recover from trauma in a safe and supportive environment. Our trained therapists are dedicated to helping you reclaim your life and well-being.
Specialized therapy for Canadian Armed Forces members and Veterans. Experienced in operational stress injuries and culturally aligned care.

Session Fee:
Therapy sessions are billed at $180 per session.

Insurance Coverage
FITT Social Work Services Inc. is covered by most major extended health benefit plans. Counselling with a Registered Social Worker (MSW, RSW) is eligible for reimbursement under many insurers, including Manulife, Canada Life, Sun Life, GreenShield, Desjardins, Beneva, Empire Life, Industrial Alliance, Johnson Insurance, Chambers of Commerce, Cowan, Equitable Life, and many others.
We also bill through the Telus Health & Provider Connect Network, which expands accessibility across multiple insurance providers.
A culturally aligned rehabilitation framework designed for federally incarcerated Black individuals. Focuses on identity, emotional healing, coping, conflict reduction, motivation, and reintegration.
A therapeutic program using West African Adinkra symbols to teach identity, resilience, emotional regulation, community values, and responsibility.
Duafe Reports are Culturally aligned release planning and support for federally sentenced men and women.
Court-ready assessments providing an in-depth analysis of how racism, migration, cultural identity, systemic barriers, trauma, and community context have shaped an individual’s life and pathways into the justice system. These reports offer judges critical cultural context to support fair, informed, and equitable sentencing and decision-making.
Culturally informed consultation for legal counsel, clinical teams, and Review Boards. This service supports interpretation of risk, behaviour, treatment needs, and rehabilitation pathways using an Africentric and IRCA-informed lens. Suitable for forensic mental health settings, including matters before the Ontario Review Board (ORB), to enhance assessment accuracy and culturally responsive treatment planning.
The Duafe Report, developed by Duane Wiafe, MSW, RSW, is an IRCA-informed cultural assessment that supports parole decision-making for federally sentenced individuals by balancing risk with systemic and cultural factors. Inspired by the Duafe Adinkra symbol, it examines cultural identity, racial stressors, trauma, and institutional impact through an Africentric lens. The report contextualizes behaviour and supports fair, evidence-informed release planning.
